June is one of the most important times of the year for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Questioning (LGBTQIA+) community in the United States and elsewhere. In June, parades with floats, celebrities and parties commemorate a period of change that was not expected to experience anywhere near this rate of progress during the mid 20th century.
